One of Vietnam's most well-known national parks is Yok Don National Park. Situated around 40 kilometers west of Buon Ma Thuot city, the property spans 115.545 hectares. Where is Vietnam's valuable national forest ecosystem's natural resource conservation happening? In particular, hiking through the deciduous forest, unusual animal occurrences, rivers, waterfalls, and natural lakes of this national park. In addition, camping in the forest is a fantastic way to experience nature up close.
Itinerary
Day 1: Buon Ma Thuot - Yok Don National Park (LD)
Pick-up guests in the hotel or in the Buon Ma Thuot airport, depart for Yok Don National Park – Among the largest parks of Vietnam with the covering of 115.545 hectares, trek (6 hours 14 kilometers) deep into the forest to detect its varied flora and fauna system. Take a picnic lunch in the forest.
Continue the trek to the campsite (close by a flow), set up tents or hammocks, collect woods for a fire. Then making dinner with the tour guide. Enjoy dinner with herbaceous plants and local dishes collected in the forest.
After supper, you might take a short stroll (half an hour) to appreciate the character throughout the night time (a flash – mild is demanded). Spend the night in the hammocks or tents.
Day 2: Full Day Trek Yok Don National Park (BLD)
After breakfast, pack up and continue the trek up to Yok Don Mountain’s Peak (468m). It’s about 3 kilometers of hiking up to the top of this mountain = 2 hours). Enjoy great views with trees and a flora system of tropics open dry forest. Off the mountain’s peak. Then we had a picnic lunch.
Continue the trek (about 8 kilometers) to Dak’ Lau Stream, arrive at the campsite, set up stalls or hammocks, and collect wood for a fire. We may go fishing and make dinner with our guide. Enjoy dinner with herbaceous plants and local dishes collected from the forest. (swimming is possible). We spend another night in the forest in hammocks or tents.
Day 3: Yok Don National Park - Don Village - Buon Ma Thuot (BL)
After breakfast, pack up and continue the trek (8 kilometers), continuing on the journey for researching the wild-lifes. Take an elephant ride (one hour). Enjoy a picnic lunch close by the S’repok Riverside. Out from the park, go up-stream on the S’repok River by engine – boat (one hour 8 kilometers) to enjoy the beautiful landscapes and also to witness the daily routine activities of the occupants along the river-sides. With this course, you might have chances to see many bird species. Such as king-fisher, oriole, drongo…
Following the local boat trip, visit Yang Lanh Village so as to interact and also to share with local people by researching the multi-cultures as well as the traditional traditions among the different ethnic groups of the Ede, M’nong, & Laos. Especially, discover the Ede’s Matriarchal Society. Visit the plantations of pepper and coffee… on the way back to Buon Ma Thuot. Our trip will end in Buon Ma Thuot around 18:00.
