Dong Van Karst Plateau

The remote Dong Van karst plateau in Ha Giang radiates extraordinary beauty in spite of its harsh climate, scarcity of arable land, and shortage of water.

Cho chi

Parashorea chinensis - Large tree, with straight cylindrical trunk, 45 - 50 m high, 0.8 - 0.9 m in diameter, height under branches up to more than 30 m.

Ba Be National Park

Ba Be, which spans 10,048 hectares, was designated as a National Park in 1992 and subsequently listed as an ASEAN Heritage Park.

Ironwood

Erythrophloeum fordii - Gemu in Chinese. Large tree, 20 - 25m high, 70 - 90cm diameter. Round stem, thick, spreading foliage. The outer bark is reddish brown with many pores.

Khaya wood

Khaya senegalensis - Chheu khai (ឈើខៃ) in Khmer, or sọ khỉ or xà cừ in Vietnamese. Large tree 20 - 30m high, 80 - 100cm in diameter, branches early.

Bach Ma National Park

A hill station at 1440m above the sea with chilly air seemed to be a perfect place for recreation, so the French began constructing villas here around 1930.

Makha

Afzelia xylocarpa - Large, deciduous tree, 25-30 m tall, trunk diameter 0.8-1 m. The bark is gray brown, rough, with many brown holes on the surface.

Bu Gia Map National Park

Much of the Bu Gia Map national park lies in the southern reaches of the Central Highlands. The highest point in the area is 700 meters above sea level.

Bidoup Nui Ba National Park

Located in the Da Lat Plateau Endemic Bird Area, one of the planet's 221 Endemic Bird territories (EBAs). The park is bordered by three Important Bird Areas (IBAs).

Mersawa

Anisoptera costata - Large evergreen tree , 30 - 40 m high, 50 - 80 cm diameter or more. The bark is grey-brown, smooth when young, deeply cracked when old.

Cat Ba National Park

Part of the Cat Ba Archipelago, the park comprises about 366 islands. Its wide range of ecosystems, landscapes, and seascapes set it apart from other national parks in Vietnam.

Resin tree

Dipterocarpus alatus - Commonly known as Apitong is a tropical forest tree that can be found in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
