Saigon is the nation's largest city and commercial hub. With its bustling streets, many street sellers, cyclos, food booths, stores, and markets, it is a city with tremendous energy. Starting from your hotel with a private guide and vehicle, you will visit the city's well-known and historic sites including the War Museum. With a variety of leftover tanks, airplanes, and artillery on show, the War Museum is definitely an interesting visit.
Short transfer to the nearby street to visit the Reunification Hall, an important landmark of Vietnam’s history, walk through the floors and see the building highlights including the main hall where the conference took place in 1976 to reunify the country, the underground tunnels and emergency commanding quarters.
Short walk through a local park to reach the Cathedral Square where you will see the Notre Dame Basilica and the Central Post Office building, both being significant French architectures built around the end of the 19th century. Today both buildings have become a favorite backdrop for wedding photography.
The afternoon is to discover the local arts and crafts. Vist the Fine Art Museum to have an insight of the development of Vietnamese painting and sculpture. Visit Thien Hau Temple, indeed a meeting hall of a Chinese immigrant congregation. The temple showcases elaborate ceramic works on the roof ridges. To continue, visit the lacquerware center where you can see the entire process of lacquer working to make a piece of art. Return to your hotel and end the tour.
