The Mekong Delta, often known as "the rice bowl of Vietnam", is the country's most fertile area and the primary producer of both rice and tropical fruits. Join your guide and vehicle to drive south to the riverfront town of My Tho. Visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, the most famous Buddhist monument in town, with many beautiful statues and sculptures in the interior. The garden outside is dominated by huge statues of the Happy Buddha, Guanyin and the Reclining Sakyamuni.
Short transfer to the tourist wharf on the bank of the My Tho River, one of the nine branches of the Mekong. Board the motorboat crossing over to Thoi Son island where you will get off the boat for a walking tour through the lush green orchards and busy cottage industries. Plenty of encounters during the walk that show you how the locals lead their life, including a traditional music performance. Hop on a wooden sampan to have a scenic ride through the narrow palm shaded canals. By motorboat back to the bank and take the drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.
